Psychologist, Brief Behavioral Intervention Program Manager

Assistant Professor, Emory University School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics

Mindy Scheithauer, PhD, BCBA-D, received her doctorate in psychology from Louisiana State University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship through the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine at Kennedy Krieger Institute and her fellowship at Emory University.

Dr. Scheithauer is a Psychologist in the Complex Behavior Support Program at Marcus Autism Center. In her clinic work, she focuses on the assessment and treatment of problem behavior using functional analyses and function-based interventions. She also helps supervise trainees, including those seeking board-certified behavior analyst doctorate and psychology experiences.

In addition to clinical work, Dr. Scheithauer is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Emory University School of Medicine.  She has a variety of research interests in the field of applied behavior analysis and clinical trial treatment research. Current projects include evaluating the interactive effects of pharmacological and behavioral assessments and treatments, analyzing novel models for the assessment and treatment of complex challenging behaviors, and creating manuals for behavioral interventions.  She has numerous national and international presentations on these topics and has published her work in some of the top behavior analytic journals.
