Utilizing developmental and play-based strategies to help children achieve their treatment goals

At Marcus Autism Center, we are dedicated to providing state-of-the-art clinical services to children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Our intensive Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy Services Program provides individualized treatment focused on improving core deficits associated with ASD—social communication and play. While our approach to treatment is heavily rooted in the science of ABA, we utilize developmental and play-based strategies to help make sure children are motivated and engaged while working on treatment goals that are most critical for their continued development.

What is Marcus Autism Center's safety plan?

Safety Measures at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Facilities

At Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, we’re working hard to protect our patients, families and staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. Safety is our top priority and we’ve put extra precautions in place to keep your family safe.

We have taken a number of important steps to make Marcus Autism Center as safe as possible. We ask you to join us in ensuring safety for all patients, visitors and staff by adhering to the following four safety measures:

  1. All Children’s facilities will require a wellness screening for patients and visitors for signs of illness. Before entering our facility, everyone will have their temperature checked and be asked questions about their symptoms, including cough, fever higher than 100°F, shortness of breath, sore throat, diarrhea, vomiting, congestion and muscle aches. Any visitor showing signs of illness will not be allowed into our facility.
  2. Visitor restrictions are in place. Only two caregivers may accompany a child into the facility. If you have other children, make arrangements for them to stay home.
  3. Everyone visiting our facility is required to wear a mask from home to your child’s scheduled appointment. Patients and visitors are also required to wear a mask at all times during their visit. Whether you are in one of our waiting areas, patient rooms, restrooms, or hallways a mask must be worn. If you do not have a mask, we will give you one before entering our facility.
  4. We encourage the practice of social distancing, which means maintaining a distance of 6 feet from other patients and visitors. When you arrive for your visit, you may notice signage, including special floor decals, to help make sure everyone stands six feet apart in high traffic areas. You may also notice that seating has been rearranged in our waiting areas in order to follow social distancing guidelines.
