Dr. Li received his Ph.D, in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2007. Upon his graduation, Dr. Li joined the Biomedical Imaging Technology Center, Emory University/Georgia Tech for his postdoctoral training, with a focus on the methods and applications of diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI).
Dr. Li has previously studied brain evolution, aging and prenatal alcohol exposure using diffusion MRI. Currently, Dr. Li is focusing on identifying biomarkers of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using diffusion and functional MRI. Dr. Li’s research also involves a comparative MRI study on infant monkeys for the ontogeny and neural basis of social visual engagement.
