Sara Hoffenberg, Psy.D., A.B.P.P., joined Children's Healthcare of Atlanta in 2007, and Marcus Autism Center in 2008. She is a clinical child psychologist in the Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Center with extensive experience and expertise in disorders of early childhood and developmental disorders.
Dr. Hoffenberg received degrees from the University of Wisconsin in Psychology and Studio Art. She earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology at Argosy University. Prior to joining Marcus Autism Center, Dr. Hoffenberg completed her postdoctoral fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine through the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and her pre-doctoral internship at Miami Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Hoffenberg is a licensed psychologist in Georgia and is certified through the American Board of Professional Psychology in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. She has spent the past several years conducting developmental, psychoeducational and neuropsychological assessments as well as individual, family and group therapy with children with a range of developmental disabilities and medical conditions. She has provided consultation and therapy to parents, siblings and children in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
Dr. Hoffenberg has been a guest speaker at several local universities and has presented at numerous conferences on diagnostic assessment of children and autism spectrum disorders. She currently works within the Pediatric Neurodevelopmental Center (PNC) and on the research clinical assessment core conducting diagnostic assessments of children at risk for Autism Spectrum Disorders. She has particular expertise in the assessment of infants and toddlers.
She also coordinates the training program within the psychology PNC clinic, which includes postdoctoral fellows, pre-doctoral interns and practicum students.
Diagnosed with autism when he was just a year old, Ryan Cartledge is now 18 with a bright future ahead of him. His father says, "Marcus Autism Center changed Ryan's life."
