The Educational Resource Center is located on the main floor at Marcus Autism Center. It is an educational source for health information that is accessible to parents, employees and the public. The Educational Resource Center is staffed by a medical librarian and volunteers who are dedicated to providing a helping hand through research, guidance and overall assistance accessing reliable, educational health information.
The resource center maintains a library of materials to help patient families become more informed. In addition, the resource center contains a physical collection of health-related books, journals and electronic resources, with a focus on autism and related disorders. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for patient families to expand their understanding of these disorders in a sensitive and responsive learning environment.
Our staff can help patient families access the most current and reliable health-related information. We provide computers and a photocopier for added convenience. We can help patient families search for materials in person, over the phone or by email.
The book collection consists of professional, community and parent-oriented literature. In addition, we provide medical dictionaries, encyclopedias and directories for patient families to educate themselves during their visit.
The journal collection contains current professional journals, popular health magazines and health-related newsletters.
Patient families can access hundreds of online, full-text journals through our subscription to several clinical and consumer health databases.
Contact the resource center at 404-785-9382 for questions.

His older brother, Arthur, also has autism and completed the Marcus Autism Center Early Intervention Program. “We had seen such great progress with Arthur, so we knew that we needed to start Max in the program, too,” Max’s mother, Therese, said.
