Neurological disorders can be common, such as tension headaches, and serious issues, such as brain tumors, sleep disorders, strokes, serious seizures disorders, severe mental retardation, spinal cord paralysis and muscular dystrophy.
Most of the disorders treated at Marcus Autism Center involve the nervous system and are neurological. However, the conditions and treatments are so diverse that neurological disorders have been divided into numerous subgroups with their own specialized teams of physicians and therapists.

Max Brewer was diagnosed with a mild form of autism when he was 3. His older brother, Arthur, also has autism and completed the Marcus Autism Center Early Intervention Program. “We had seen such great progress with Arthur, so we knew that we needed to start Max in the program, too,” Max’s mother, Therese, said.
Marcus Autism Center is a subsidiary of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
