Brain malformations are conditions where the brain does not properly form during pregnancy. These issues in brain structure are often (with some exceptions) associated with neurological and developmental problems. In general, the more severe the structural issue the more severe the effects.
The problems resulting from brain malformations are variable and require careful assessments to detect or try to predict for the future (prognosticate). Some problems only develop over time and others may improve with time.

His older brother, Arthur, also has autism and completed the Marcus Autism Center Early Intervention Program. “We had seen such great progress with Arthur, so we knew that we needed to start Max in the program, too,” Max’s mother, Therese, said.
